What is a PSA?
Generally a PSA (Public Service Announcement) is a brief announcement of an event or service that will impact / benefit the community. PSA's are available to non-profit, non-political organizations.
What should be included in a PSA?
- Event name
- Event date
- Event time
- Event location
- Purpose of event (is this a fund raiser for your organization? is it a seminar to raise awareness, an educational event or …?)
- Contact information: A contact phone number for further information that can be posted on our web sites and given out over the air
- Mission statement: Be sure to include a brief descripton of your group or organization as well. We need to know what your organization is about -this will help us when we are telling people why they should attend your event.
- Non-profit status (PSA's are only available for non-profit organizations)
Remember to:
Be concise - limit your information to one page or less
Be sure to include your name & daytime phone number in case we have questions or need to verify information regarding your event
How to submit a PSA - This is EASY!
You can send PSA's three different ways:
E-mail - click here to send us your PSA
Fax - 508-775-2605 Attn: PSA Dept.
Mail - To mail your PSA send your information to:
WFCC 107.5 FM
Public Service Department
737 W. Main Street
Hyannis, MA 02601
PSA’s should be mailed a minimum of two (2) weeks in advance (we recommend 3 to 4 weeks).
When will I hear my PSA?
We place all PSA's in equal rotation on a first come first served basis (as long as you have followed our suggested guidelines).
PSA's are read as time permits and are subject to space availability . We reserve the right to edit your PSA, and we may omit any mention of for-profit businesses.
If you wish to have your PSA read at a certain time or on a certain day we recommend that you consider purchasing advertising time - call 508-771-1224 for details - however purchasing advertising does not increase your chances of getting your PSA in to the rotation.
